Substitutes

So I'm at my parents house for a few weeks. Promised Lorelei we would make cake mix cookies during naptime. Moms shouldn't promise things. Would love to sit and put my feet up (which I am doing now...) but anyway I had promised a treat. Well I go to add the vegetable oil and we are out. Anyone who knows me...knows I don't cook. Cake box cookies require like 4 ingredients...and still I am missing one! Figures. I get everything else I need. Including farm fresh eggs from my younger brothers chicken farm. This is one thing I miss when I am gone (one of the many I should say) but there is never a shortage of eggs in this house. And they are all farm fresh free range chicken eggs. Honestly you can tell the difference! Not only is it nice to have eggs from somewhere you know, but they really have a better taste and color quality! So anyone in the southwest Michigan area, you should come see Joe's Farm. He has all sorts of produce as well. No chemicals, all natural! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Joes-farm/147824415297123 Ok shameless plug done! So what does a 26 year old mother of four do? I called my mom. She reminded me you can subsitute applesauce for the oil. Kind of wonder why I don't do that more often. Eliminate oil when I can...at least try to make it healthier. So I asked her how much. We are not bakers or gourmet cooks in this family. She told me to google it. So I go to Pinterest and discovered it is an equal swap. If the recipe calls for one cup of oil replace it with one cup of applesauce. Easy enough. Question is will it turn out the same. From the empty bowl you can see the prebaked test taste was a thumbs up. Let's see how the baked version is.

Coleden found this bottle of Aleve (package says extra strength lasts up to 12 hours) and asked me what it was. I told him it was medicine. ...
