Now for the dreaded grocery store trips. I used to enjoy going to the grocery store. I would put Lorelei in the cart and we would walk every aisle until we found what we needed. Now fast forward to four kids! If I have the crew, we need to get in and out as quickly as possible. If I don't have the crew, it means I left them with Jordan and I probably only have an hour before Madelyn will need to eat. In that case I still don't want to take all evening and would rather use my extra time to grab a Starbucks on the way home!
So I have created a system that works for us. Not sure it would work for everyone but it does what we want it to do. I don't have time to think through every aisle and make a nice organized list. I am too scatter brained for that I guess. So here is what I do. I make these at the beginning of the week and as I think of things, I fill them into the categories. Since we do most of our bulk shopping at Sam's Club, I don't usually have much from the interior aisles at Walmart or the commissary.
I keep it real simple
Then I just fill in as I think of things. We usually do our big Sam's Club (or costco before we switched because we were moving somewhere without a costco...) once a month or so as a family. Call us weird but it's kind of our Sunday afternoon activity. Kids get a hot dog when we walk in and we collect samples as we go. Kids stay eating, we stay happy.
Not sure how many of you watch veggie tales but every time I walk into Sam's the song "stuff mart" enters my head....because you sort of feel like you want one of everything!
Anyway, that's how we do it...until I figure out a better system...haha. But for now I am able to get in and out pretty fast and that's what counts!
this is the large utility tote and it holds a TON! Makes unloading groceries a breeze!
