Finally I got my "official" phone call from Jordan. 12 minutes and 8 seconds is all it was but I got filled in on a few details. He does have his address now but I am going to make sure I have it correct before I put it up. There were so many numbers and letters and I am not sure I got it all right! He sounded good. A little homesick! He said they are getting "smoked" some and worked hard but he said that isn't too bad. I guess you get used to it. He got to eat lunch with a Brigadier General yesterday. I guess they don't get to talk during food times unless an officer talks to them. He said he didn't know proper etiquette yet and was pretty intimidated. I guess he was really nice and Jordan said he learned a lot. I guess OCS is a lot harder than basic. He was 88th in his class of 160 candidates and still got the branch he wanted and rose to rank of Brigadier General so he didn't do too bad!!
Good to hear after yesterday's food scare that everything is ok. I guess they were told about it but nothing actually happened. I just couldn't believe when I saw the news. What are the odds, Jordan had only been there like 4 days and there is a possible threat! I guess that is the military!
One thing I am confused about! We thought basic was 8 weeks and four days. If that was the case he would graduate 4/16. But we thought we had heard it was the next weekend. Now I find out that Jordan was told it was actually now 4/30!! So looks like 10 weeks he will be gone now. Plus he has to be to OCS by 5/2. Looks like we won't be seeing each other much. Now that I know his Platoon and company I should be able to get more details.
Well that is it. Wasn't a long conversation but at least I got to hear from him. Staying busy here. We start conferences this weekend. Good to stay busy! Good to get a quick facebook from Erica. I can't believe my sister is in another country! She doesn't have a phone or email access right now. She only got a quick minute to tell us she was there and safe. Hope to hear more soon!!Thanks again everyone for all the encouragement and support! Hope these next few weeks go well.
